6th and 7th Grade League

Regular Season 2018-2019
2018-2019 x Regular Season

6th and 7th Grade Structure and Goals

6th and 7th grade teams will be a mix of experienced and new players, as many experienced players will continue to play from early ages, that balance will be different than in the younger ages.  We continue to be committed to creating an environment where girls with less experience are playing and learning the game.

Practices will be once a week with games on Saturdays. The League continues to be developmental in nature, allowing experienced and new players to have success. The pace of the game will be quicker, but all players will play and attending practices is critical.  Players learn basic and new skills for some, while building on existing skills. Playing as part of a team and sportsmanship continue to be critical components of the game at this age.

In order to create this model, we follow some basic rules-

We work hard to balance the teams and ask that you note that evaluations are necessary for all to be placed on a team.  Small teams in basketball make it impossible to take requests for players or coaches as it would undo our ability to hold a coaches draft.

We use professional referees and HS players as scorekeepers to track the basic statistics for each game.  We will post statistics, but will continue to be a developmental league and coaches will focus on fundamentals and team skills verses who scored the most points.

If your daughter wants more basketball, we would like to encourage her to try travel level play.
