The Towson Recreation Council Dance Program offers children the opportunity to dance in a friendly and safe environment. The age range is 18 months to 18 years. We currently offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Pointe, and both Ballet and Tap Technique. We also offer a Creative Movements class for our younger dancers. The age requirements are as follows:

• Ballet: ages 3 and up
• Tap: ages 3 and up
• Jazz: ages 6 and up
• Hip hop and Contemporary: ages 8 and up
• Pointe: dancer must be over the age of 12, have at least 3 years of Ballet experience, and must have approval from an instructor before being allowed to dance on toes
• Creative Movements: ages 18 months-3 years

Classes will take place at either Stoneleigh Elementary School, 900 Pemberton Road, Baltimore, MD 21212 or Dumbarton Middle School, 300 Dumbarton Road, Baltimore, MD 21212. Our program runs from the beginning of October until May. Classes will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, and all day Saturdays.

No pre-set schedule is made prior to registration with class dates and times. We create classes after registration because we do not want to turn any dancers away when age groups/classes fill up. If you sign up and are unable to make any of the class times for your child's age group, we will give you a full refund.

TUITION: The prices listed below include the full tuition for approximately 30 weeks of dance classes (including Saturday rehearsals), recital and costume fees, and registration fees. Tuition does not include dance shoes and weekly class dancewear (leotards, tights, skirts, etc). The total cost of tuition breaks down to about $12 per week for one class, $15 per week for two classes, $17 per week for three classes, $18 per week for four classes, $19 per week for five classes. What a deal!  

 1 class = $370.00

     2 classes = $445.00

     3 classes = $500.00

     4 classes = $540.00

     5 classes = $570.00

     Pointe = $200.00

     Creative Movements- $250.00 (runs for 22 weeks- end of year showcase)

* YOUR CHILD IS GUARANTEED TO RECEIVE A COSTUME FOR EACH CLASS THEY PARTICIPATE IN UP TO 2 CLASSES (costume fees included in tuition costs). STUDENTS TAKING 3 OR MORE CLASSES MAY HAVE TO WEAR THE SAME COSTUME FOR MORE THAN ONE DANCE IN THE RECITAL (TEACHER DISCRETION) AND MAY HAVE TO RETURN DESIGNATED COSTUMES.*

SIBLING DISCOUNT: If you have more than one family member in the program, you will be charged full tuition for the dancer taking the greatest number of classes. Then, each additional dancer receives a 10% discount. 

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, we follow the Baltimore County Public School (BCPS) system.  If BCPS are closed or close early, then classes are cancelled.  Also, if BCPS cancel all after school activities, we will not have class that evening.  If there are BCPS delays in the morning, we will still have classes that afternoon/evening.  If classes are cancelled, we will do our best to notify parents/dancers via e-mail as soon as possible.
