Planning is underway for the Winter 2020 TRC Ski Club!

 

Check back mid-August for updates and registration information.  Details listed below are from last season but the upcoming season will be similar in schedule and fees.

 

Please note, there will be several changes for the 2020 season including, but not limited to:

The new Youth Night Tracker card will replace the Night Club Card for ages 8-18 

A pick-up site at McDonough school will be offered. 

The Advantage Card will no longer be offered. 

Adult chaperones will not be given the option of rentals or lessons included with their chaperone pass

 

Registration Instructions

Registration opens October 1, 2018 at 9:00 PM! (evening)

Step 1. Register through the TRC link below beginning Oct. 1 and pay the $190 registration fee. After you complete this first step, you need to complete the remaining steps below.

Step 2. Purchase your Night Club Card by logging on to our Ski Liberty Club page (see link at top of page under Step 2) . Click on "See Available Items". There are other options available in addition to the Night Club Card--contact Ski Liberty at 717-642-8282 x 3305 if you would like to learn more about those options. If you will be purchasing a Family/Advantage Card, Season Pass or some other retail pass, you may skip this step.

Step 3: Upload a photo for your Night Club Card to Ski Liberty site. See instructions in PDF below.

STEP 1 IS REQUIRED TO SECURE YOUR SPACE IN THE CLUB.  STEPS 2 and 3 MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO NOV. 6th OR YOUR SPOT WILL BE RELINQUISHED TO THE NEXT PERSON ON THE WAITLIST.

Basic Information

WHO:

Students in grades 6–8 (may only ride Dumbarton bus) and students in grades 9-12 (may only ride Towson High bus). Students from all schools are welcome provided they can get to the correct site by the time of departure!

DATES/TIMES: 

Note: Towson Rec follows BCPS policies on cancellations regarding after school and evening activities. If a trip is cancelled, we will make every attempt to make it up on an additional Friday or Sunday in February. 

MIDDLE SCHOOL, 3:30 - 10:30 P.M.

COST:
Towson Recreation Council Registration $190
(covers coach bus transportation, staffing, ski club shirts, admin fees)

PLUS THE PURCHASE OF:

Ski Night Club Card*
(purchased separately through our Ski Liberty club page, see Step 2 under "Registration Instructions") NOTE: If you will be purchasing a separate retail pass through Ski Liberty such as Family Advantage pass or are a Season Pass holderyou will only need to complete Step 1 of the registration process which covers coach bus transportation, staffing, club shirts, and admin fees).        

*Choose one (prices valid until 11/07/18):
$190 Lift only (not to be confused with the $190 TRC registration fee! this is an additional $190!!)
$235 Lift and lessons
$280 Lift, rental and lessons

*Additional options available online when you register (I.e. Helmet rental/purchase, insurance, advantage card options, etc.) In addition to the 6 school trips, the Ski Liberty Night Club Card also allows students to ski/snowboard for FREE on their own from 4-10 p.m. all season at Liberty, Roundtop & Whitetail Mountains beginning 1/2/19!

SUPERVISION:  
Parents should understand that students are not supervised directly while on the slopes or in the ski lodge.  There is a mandatory check-in halfway through the evening for middle school students and a 'home base' is set up in the lodge in case a student needs assistance, and students are encouraged to ski with another person(s) in ski club.  Ski patrol will contact TRC chaperones in the event of a medical concern, at which point chaperones will contact parents as necessary.

BEHAVIOR:

Ski club participants are expected to follow the same behavioral guidelines as listed in their BCPS student handbook.  Violations may result in suspension from the club with no refunds.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL - ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Middle school bus departs from Dumbarton Middle School promptly at 3:30 p.m. from the rear parking lot (near the 'Snack Shack' shed) and will return to the front of the school at 10:30 p.m.  
  • Gear may be dropped off at the Snack Shack located at rear parking lot near the fields on the morning of the trips starting 20 min prior to school start.
  • DMS parents will chaperone the trips. 
  • Students are responsible for their own dinner.
  • Additional details will follow upon registration.

HIGH SCHOOL - ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • High school bus departs from Towson High School promptly at 2:30 p.m. from the back parking lot near fields.   
  • High school gear drop-off: shed on grass field starting 20 min prior to school start.
  • THS parents and teachers will chaperone the trips. 
  • Students are responsible for their own dinner.
  • Additional details will follow upon registration.
