Travel Soccer

Towson United Girls Travel program offers year-round competitive soccer for girls born between 2017 – 2009. Our travel program participates in the CMSA (Central Maryland Soccer Association) and EDP (Elite Development Program) leagues. We currently have 11 teams and are always looking to grow the program. The majority of our coaches have played or coached at the collegiate, club or high school level and hold USSF licenses and/or USC diplomas.

Towson United Girls Travel Soccer is a year-round program with emphasis on the fall season when we encourage players to focus their commitment on soccer. In addition to participating in CMSA or EDP league play on the weekends, travel teams practice twice a week and participate in 2-3 tournaments during the fall season. In the winter, the girls travel teams practice once a week and participate in a futsal league. For the spring, our travel teams practice at least once a week, participate in weekend league play in CMSA or EDP and usually play in a spring tournament.

TRYOUT EVALUATIONS

Travel team evaluations are scheduled to take place during the month of May each year. All players, new and returning, must try out every year.

Team selection is based on tryout results as well as performance in training and games during the previous season. There exists the possibility that an interested player will not be selected for a team. There also exists the possibility that a returning player changes teams (up or down) based on their performance. The final number of teams formed will depend on the number of interested players meeting travel requirements and committed coaches. Towson United Soccer strives to enter multiple teams in each age group and player development is the key objective.

ANNUAL PLAYER FEES

Travel fees are comprised of two components: a program/club fee and individual team fees for the entire year of travel soccer. The program/club fee supports the cost associated with running the travel program such as online registration fees, administrative fees, tryout costs, field rentals, goalkeeper training, special events, player development trainings, and coach education etc. The individual team fees are specific to each team and will depend on the age group, level of the team, and league/tournament participation.

Travel fees are determined for the entire year and can be paid in full or with an installment plan. U8 to U16 player fees are estimated between $600 - $1000. Additionally, any player new to the program will need to purchase a New Player Kit, which consists of home and away jerseys, shorts and socks and is estimated at $150. These fees are approximate and are subject to change based on each individual team’s participation.
