DRESS CODE:

GENERAL DRESS CODE INFORMATION---

  • HAIR: Hair must be tied back for all classes. If your dancer has short hair, please pin it back or use a headband to keep the hair away from the dancer's face.
  • NO JEWELRY: Remember loose or dangling jewelry is a safety hazard and distraction for dancers. Jeans, jean shorts, play clothes, or school clothes are not suitable dance attire.
  • TIGHTS AND LEOTARD are required in all classes for dancers under 10. (footed or convertible---NO FOOTLESS)  

CLASS SPECIFIC DRESS CODE INFORMATION---

Creative Movements (18 months- 3 year olds)

and

Ballet and Tap (3 year olds- 8 year olds):

• Leotard (dance and tutu skirts are optional, shorts may also be worn overtop as long as they are not too baggy)

•Ballet tights (footed or convertible---NO FOOTLESS)

•Stretch-Fit pink ballet slippers (with drawstring and elastic band)

  • Tap shoes-- Capezio black "Ribbon Tie Tap Shoes" or "Mary Jane Buckle Strap" or "Velcro Strap"

Intermediate and Advanced Level Ballet and Tap (9 and up):

•May wear dance skirts, athletic shorts/skirts, or leggings are allowed; NO BAGGY pants or jeans

•Ballet shoes--Bloch or Capezio canvas pink ballet slippers (MUST have a drawstring, not just elastic, *split-sole acceptable)

  • Tap shoes-- Capezio or Bloch lace-up or slip-on black tap shoes (split-sole required)

Jazz and Hip Hop (all levels):

•black lace-up or slip-on jazz shoes (split-sole recommended for Intermediate and Advanced dancers); NO HARD SOLE shoes or dance boots allowed

Contemporary (all levels):

  • Ballet shoes--Bloch or Capezio canvas pink ballet slippers (MUST have a drawstring, not just elastic, *split-sole acceptable)

ATTENDANCE AND CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY:

Attending class on a regular basis is important.  Dedication to class not only ensures students are prepared, but also helps students get the most out of their dance experience.  Therefore, all students who participate in TRC Dance must comply with the program’s attendance policy. We understand that children have other activities, and may get sick, so please let us know ahead of time about your child's absence (if/when possible). Of course, there are special circumstances, so if your child has a serious injury/illness, please make sure to contact his/her teacher.

 
Tardiness
A student will be considered absent if he/she is late to class by 15 minutes or more. 

Attendance Policy Details:

 If your child is absent from two consecutive classes and/or 3 total classes, you will receive an e-mail reminder of our policy. If your child misses 5+ classes, you will receive an e-mail notice to schedule a meeting. If more than 5 classes are missed, the chairperson and teachers reserve the right to determine whether your child will be able to participate in the program. A refund will not be issued if your child is removed from the program due to attendance issues.

Please review the code of conduct with your child prior to the dance year. Each registrant is required to submit a signed form and/or agree to the terms on online registration in order to participate.

  • Parents are not allowed to sit in the class room and watch. You may wait in your car or leave and come back.
  • In the month of March, we will begin group rehearsals. At this time, all classes will change to Saturdays. Every ones class time will change.
  • Recital weekend is TBD. It will be some time in May. We will update ASAP.
